The Alos Quartet was created in 1999 from the Et Incarnatus chamber orchestra. It is composed of musicians with vast artistic experience in both classical and modern music. The Alos Quartet has worked with prestigious orchestras such as the Euskadi Youth Orchestra, the Euskadi Orchestra, the National Spanish Youth Orchestra etc., and its members also play in folk groups (Oskorri, Benito Lertxundi).
Their repertoire covers many areas of modern music – a new perspective, in fact, based on the classical format of a string quartet. The Alos Quartet has a large number of performances and recordings to its credit after its first five years.
Some of the major concerts include tours with the Portuguese singer Dulce Pontes between 1999 and 2004 at prestigious venues throughout the Spanish State and Portugal; the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid, the Auditori in Barcelona, Teatro Coliseo in Lisbon etc.
Since 2001 the quartet has been working on a regular basis with the Bilbao musician Kepa Junkera, and were involved in the promotional tour for “Maren”. In the spring of 2003 the Alos Quartet helped record “K”, live from the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao. ALOS QUARTET (NO-CD Rekords, 2005) is the first one of this quartet on its owen, and it's also an innovative live performance.
Some of the recording sessions in which the quartet was involved: Los Piratas, Oskorri, Olatz Zugasti, Bide Ertzean, El hombre Burbuja, Kepa Junkera, Tejedor, Angel Unzu, Ken 7, Joserra Senperena etc.
And for 2009, they are already recording their new album. We will keep you informed!
